Making his money as a professional poker player, his vintner sources out the best grapes for his line-up of Poker inspired wines.

2007 Pocket Kings Red
His Big Red  $35
Fruity and elegant. Intense garnet core with thin light red rim. Clean nose with moderate blackberry and black cherry aromas, and greenish vegetal and herbaceous notes.    Ripe dark fruit aroma – almost floral, but with tobacco and dusty leather   undertones. Medium body with moderate intensity. Smooth tannin.

2009 Seven Deuce Red
Over delivers for price point! $19
A big red blend of Merlot, Shiraz, and ‘Cab’ from Osoyoos small lots.  A stunning complement to the grill, it’s the one to pour at your next “high steaks” game.

2010 Seven Deuce White
This is a winning   white! $19
Pinot Gris lightly kissed with Gewurztraminer. Consummates a chicken, fish, or shellfish dish — but is lip-smackingly good all on its own. Don’t be surprised when this off-dry original becomes your summer standby sipper.

Five perfect grapes make this Blush Flush $19
Think pink, and expect a controlled riot of ripe, succulent fruit on the tongue.
Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris infused with well-aimed splashes of Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Served well-chilled, this blushing beauty complements   seafood, poultry, and spicy offerings.

Saturday May 5th 3-6pm Arrowleaf Cellars Tasting

Join us Saturday from 3-6pm as we welcome Arrowleaf Cellars.

Margrit and Joe Zuppiger immigrated from Switzerland to Canada in 1986. Their son Manuel went back to Switzerland to train in winemaking. Very much a family run business, this winery is a must to taste.

2011 Arrowleaf Bacchus

Bacchus is a Riesling X Sylvaner X Mueller-Thurgau cross that produces lively, aromatic wines that are naturally low in alcohol. The variety excels in cool climates and it has thrived on the upper bench of the vineyard at Arrowleaf. Boasting 26 year old vines, this wine has fresh floral citrus and floral aromas. Crisp, off-dry and flavourful on the palate.

2011 Snow Tropics Vidal

Just arrived in store yesterday!  If this wine is close to being anything the 2010 was, wow! We are looking so forward to tasting this wine.

2011 Arrowleaf Pinot Gris

The locations for these grapes are situated on westerly slopes near the deepest part of Lake Okanagan. The lake moderates the often extreme temperatures experienced in the Okanagan. Pinot Gris is well suited to this area, producing grapes with subtle flavours and retaining plenty of natural acidity. Aromas of Ripe apple, pear, peach and delicate flowers. The palate shows good minerality and extract, with refreshing acidity and fruit flavours on the finish.

2009 Arrowleaf Pinot Noir

Cherry and Raspberry aromas with peppery undertones. Light delicate smooth as silk wine to pair with your favorite porcini mushroom pasta.

2009 Arrowleaf Zwiegelt

Pronounced Ts-vi-gelt this 1922 Blaufrankisch X St. Laurent crossing was pioneered by Dr. Zweigelt  of Austria. It has since rapidly gained in popularity and is now Austria’s most widely planted red grape.

Darkly colored wine with cherry, raspberry and spicy aromas. The taste is medium to full-bodied with rich fruit and vanilla oak flavours lingering on the finish. Pair with tomato-sauce based pastas, barbequed meats and vegetables or strong cheeses.

Sat April 28 wine tasting 3-6pm

Come by this Saturday between 3 and 6 pm as Jim from Neck of the Woods Winery pours you a glass of their new feature Spring releases:

2011 Sauvignon Blanc

Our current take on the hugely popular New Zealand variety is gently grassy, green and bright and fresh, but with nice fruit
and weight in the mouth. (If you’ve tasted New Zealand Sauvignon you know it can be harsh and sharp; we think we’ve come up
with the “Goldilocks” version:  not too acidic, not too overstuffed, not too green, not too sweet, but “just right!”).

2011 Gewurztraminer

This is a brand new release and I can’t wait to try it tomorrow!  Brand new in store!

2010 Cabernet Sauvignon

A never before seen Cabernet from the backyard – Jim says the fruit was too good to blend with Merlot – can’t wait – yummy!

2010 Merlot

Plummy and rich-ripe, like grandma’s best fruit compote; soft and round, deep-red, naturally sweet, a texture of stewed mixed fruit, and oh, those über-ripe plums all along the taste buds. This is a good wine to welcome friends with: pour a glass and everyone feels right at home, enjoying the soft-edged, mellow finish, the touch of sweetness just makes it dance on the tongue.

& a very Small Lot release of 2010 Syrah.
